Video Production Training and Available Couses

CAR Video Unit is committed to make  video production training
accessible to the people of Rossendale, Lancashire and beyond

Video Production Training

Despite a perceived skills shortage where MediaCity is concerned, there is a distinct lack of local provision as regards training to professional standards in the area of video production – thanks largely to the expense of the equipment required.  CAR Video Unit is committed to make such training accessible to the people of Rossendale, Lancashire and beyond – no matter what their age, background or level of education.

As part of this training process we are producing video content promoting Rossendale which will feature on Rossendale TV.

Training Courses

Our current basic training product is an 8-session course (each session lasting three to four hours) run alongside structured homework and leading to the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Moving Image Production.  We are able to offer this accredited training thanks to a partnership with Accrington & Rossendale College (Accross).

It is intended to increase the range and level of accredited courses offered over time. Trainers are fully CRB checked and qualified both in Video Production and to PTLLS (Preparation for Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) levels.

Bespoke Training

CAR Video Unit is able to offer bespoke training to industry professionals in camera operation (DV, HDV, P2 and MPEG 2) and Avid Editing.  Email us for details.

Current Courses

CAR Video Unit’s last courses came to an end in April 2012 and we are currently seeking funding to launch some more.

If you would like to be informed of future training developments please forward your contact details to courses@carvideo.org.uk.
